International Communication Commission Meets in Rome to Strengthen the Mission of Communicating Hope

From September 6 to 12, 2026, the International Communication Commission (ICC) of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry will meet in Rome, Italy  for an important gathering of reflection, formation, planning, and sharing on the mission of communication within the Congregation.

The theme of the meeting will be : “Voices of Hope in the Digital and AI Age: The Mission of Communication as Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry.”

The meeting takes place in a context of profound transformations in communication, marked by the rapid development of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence. In this context, the Commission will reflect on how to use these emerging resources in an ethical, responsible, and creative way, placing them at the service of mission, evangelization, and the building of relationships.

More than simply improving communication tools and strategies, the meeting seeks to strengthen the understanding of communication as a mission and a collective responsibility, capable of making visible the good that takes place in our communities, fostering communion among the different realities of the Congregation, and bringing messages of hope to the world.

During the days in Rome, the participants will have moments of formation, evaluation of past initiatives, planning of future actions, and deeper reflection on topics related to institutional communication, social media, Artificial Intelligence, and the challenges of digital culture.

The program will also include a visit to Vatican Radio/Vatican News and the Dicastery for Communication, offering participants the opportunity to encounter  the Church’s communication landscape and with organizations working in this field. These experiences will offer an opportunity to broaden horizons, discover new approaches, and gain knowledge that can contribute to the Congregation’s communication ministry.

This meeting will also be a privileged space to strengthen the bonds among the members of the Commission, share experiences, and deepen an international and intercultural vision of the communication mission.

May this meeting in Rome be a fruitful time of listening, discernment, creativity, and communion, renewing within the International Communication Commission the commitment to making communication a true instrument of mission, unity, and hope for the entire Congregation.
