PERPETUAL VOWS OF SISTER MARIA DOS SANTOS DURÃES AT THE CASALETTO CHAPEL IN ROME
At the Casaletto Chapel, a festive celebration gathered sisters and brothers from various parts of the world to welcome Sister Maria dos Santos Durães, who made her definitive commitment to God through the Evangelical Councils of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience. The ceremony was attended by Sister Dolores Lahr, General Superior of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry, and her Council, along with sisters from several provinces, including Brazil, Italy, India, Pakistan, and Tanzania.
Father Maximino Tessaro presided over the Mass, during which the community united in prayer and gratitude for Sister Maria's vocation, who hails from Brotas de Macaúbas, Bahia. From a young age, Sister Maria has been involved with the Congregation, participating in various activities such as vocational ministry and administrative sectors. Her decision to become a Sister of Saint Joseph reflects a deep commitment to the charism of the congregation.
“GO, FOR I AM WITH YOU ALL DAYS”
Throughout her formation, Sister Maria experienced God's love in her daily life and dedicated herself especially to the most needy. She is currently part of the mission in Tanzania, contributing to missionary work amid challenges. In her message, the community expressed wishes for boldness and enchantment in walking with Jesus Christ. “Go, for I am with you all days” (Mt 28:20) was the inspiration that permeated the celebration, highlighting Sister Maria's call and commitment to religious life.
STRENGTHENING BONDS OF COMMUNION AND GIVING THANKS
The ceremony was a moment of great joy and unity, reinforcing the strength and beauty of religious vocation within the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry.
To conclude the celebration of the Consecration, a beautiful reception was lovingly prepared by the sisters of Casaletto and the General Council for the guests. It was a significant moment to strengthen bonds of communion and give thanks to the Lord for the beauty of Consecrated Life!
