CRB of Paraná Celebrates the World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking

The Conference of Religious of Brazil – Paraná (CRB Paraná) celebrated, on February 15, 2026, the World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking in a special moment of faith, reflection, and commitment, held at Nossa Senhora da Cabeça Parish.

The celebration was presided over by the Prior of the Augustinians and Provincial, Friar Maurício José Manosso Rocha, OSA, and was attended by several men and women religious: the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry, the Sisters of Divine Providence, Augustinian priests and seminarians, and Saletian priests. Special mention goes to the participation of the network Um Grito Pela Vida (A Cry for Life), which works directly in the prevention, awareness, and fight against human trafficking throughout the country, with this specific group active in Curitiba.

Inspired by the theme “Peace Begins with Dignity: A Global Call to End Human Trafficking,” the gathering reinforced the urgency of recognizing human dignity as an essential foundation for building peace and social justice. During the celebration, prayers were offered for the victims of this grave violation of human rights, and the commitment of Religious Life to concrete actions of care, advocacy, and the promotion of life was reaffirmed.

The World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking is an invitation to the Church and to society not to remain silent in the face of this painful reality, but rather to strengthen support networks and initiatives that promote dignity, freedom, and hope, especially for the most vulnerable.
