‘Cry for Life Network’ participated in Holy Mass in Almirante Tamandaré with the theme "Together against human trafficking"
The ‘Cry for Life Network’, at the invitation of Friar João José Santos, OFM Cap, was present at the Our Lady of Conception Parish in Almirante de Tamandaré, PR, to take part in a special Holy Mass. Several religious also took part, including a group of Sisters of St. Joseph from Curitiba. The theme of the celebration was “Together against human trafficking” and it was marked by moments of prayer and reflection on one of the most serious social issues of our time: human trafficking.
The Mass, which is already an invitation to gratitude and surrender, also became a space for supplications and requests for mercy, especially for the victims of this violence. During the celebration, the priest and the sisters addressed the topic of human trafficking, warning about the lack of awareness of this issue. The practice of human trafficking, which mainly affects children, adolescents, young people, and women, continues to be a painful reality that often goes unnoticed by society.
BEING INSTRUMENTS OF PEACE, JUSTICE AND COMPASSION
The reflection touched the hearts of participants, who were called to be more attentive and vigilant in the face of this problem that destroys dreams and lives. "Few people talk about this wound that destroys the dreams of so many children, adolescents, young people, and women," said one of the speakers.
The closing prayer included a prayer of the intercession of St. Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of victims of human trafficking, who in her life experienced the pain of slavery and the joy of liberation. In prayer, we asked God to inspire us to be instruments of peace, justice, and compassion, and to work together to eradicate human trafficking.
Everyone's participation in the Mass was a reminder of the commitment needed to combat this serious violation of human rights and to help those most in need of support with greater humanity.
“St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for us,” was the final prayer that united all those present in faith and action, committing themselves to fight this reality with love and compassion.
