Chambéry, France – June 15, 2025 – On the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the French Province of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry celebrated a deeply moving and significant event at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Chambéry, witnessing the Final Profession of 11 sisters from India.
In a ceremony rich in intercultural expression, the sisters pronounced their perpetual vows, marking their full commitment to the consecrated life. The newly professed include Sr. Ravina Sapna and Sr. Nirmal from the French Province; Sr. Arul Mary, Sr. Pinky, Sr. Mery Prava, Sr. Pratima, Sr. Koltida, and Sr. Savita from the Pachmarhi Province; and Sr. Anita, Sr. Ashakiran, and Sr. Ramya from the Tanmaya Province.
GOD IS REVEALED IN LOVE, REDEMPTION, AND SANCTIFICATION
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Archbishop Chambery, Mgr. Thibault Verny, who, in his homily, acknowledged the profound significance of the day. Addressing the sisters, he said, “The Mother Church is overjoyed by your final commitment. The Diocese of Savoy is especially blessed by your presence. You have come from afar, a testament to how the Spirit moves beyond all borders.” Reflecting on the theme of the Holy Trinity, he reminded all present that God is revealed in love, redemption, and sanctification — a mystery lived daily through the vows of charity, poverty, and obedience.
Sr. Dolores, in her message of blessing, encouraged the sisters: “Love Jesus and remain in His love. Be always ready to respond to any mission.”
The ceremony drew a diverse gathering of parishioners, lay associates, benefactors, and well-wishers. Their presence and support highlighted the spirit of community and collaboration that made the celebration so meaningful.
This joyful event stands as a powerful witness to the youth of today that responding to the call of consecrated life is still very much possible — and deeply needed — in today’s world.
