THE SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH OF CHAMBÉRY IN THE PROVINCE OF BRAZIL PRESENT THEIR COMMUNICATION DIRECTORY

Curitiba (PR), February 24, 2026 – The Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry in the Province of Brazil officially presented their Communication Directory to the provincial leadership. The document offers guidance for communication practices across the Province’s Centers, communities, ministries, and digital environments.

The Directory emerges as an instrument of unity, formation, and mission, grounded in the understanding that communication is more than the transmission of information: it is about humanizing, evangelizing, and building communion. Structured in chapters addressing the theological foundation of communication, ethics, digital culture, media relations, the protagonism of the laity, and privacy policies (LGPD), the document also includes practical appendices with guidelines for content production, image use, and best practices on social media.

During the presentation, it was emphasized that today’s context—marked by the speed of information and technological advancement—calls for an ethical and responsible communicative presence aligned with the Congregation’s charism.

According to Sister Eliana Aparecida dos Santos, Coordinator of the Province’s Communication Group, the Directory represents an important step toward consolidating a more integrated communication culture:

“This Directory is not merely a set of rules. It is a path of unity and fidelity to our charism. We want to communicate with the heart, strengthening our identity and making visible—also on social networks and digital platforms—the mission we live out each day.”

The document reaffirms that ethics is the soul of Christian communication and encourages ongoing formation for Sisters, lay collaborators, and partners, promoting communicative practices grounded in truth, transparency, and human dignity.

It was also announced that each community of the Province will receive a copy of the Directory during the Provincial Assembly to be held in May.

At the conclusion of the presentation, the message that summarized the spirit of the Directory resonated among participants:

“We communicate because we believe.
We communicate because we love.
We communicate because we are sent.”

With this initiative, the Province reinforces its commitment to communicating communion and hope in the contemporary world.
