Sister Lorraine Marie Delaney goes to the House of the Father

We are all in deep shock and sorrow at the sudden homegoing of Sr. Lorraine Marie Delaney.
Sr. Lorraine was truly a remarkable woman who embodied the charism of building relationships in its fullest and most authentic sense. It’s hard to imagine anyone else having the breadth and depth of connections that she nurtured so naturally.

She was a gifted communicator—always engaged, always present. Her most recent updates, including her instant reflections on the Jubilee celebrations in France scheduled for June 2025, showed her continued passion and dedication to keeping us all connected.

 
 
Sr. Lorraine had a unique ability to bring out the best in everyone she met. Whether it was former students from the many schools where she served, her fellow sisters in the congregation, or the wider community, she always had a kind and uplifting word to share.

As General Superior, she received the added grace to connect personally with sisters across the globe. It would not be an exaggeration to say that very few, if any, knew as many sisters by name—and stayed in touch with them—as Lorraine did. Her heart truly spanned continents.
 
 
 
To me, and to so many of us, Sr. Lorraine will remain an enduring icon of relationship-building—a woman who lived the charism of communion to the very end.
 
May she rest in eternal peace.
