Rooted in Christ, Prophetic in Mission
A Socio-Pastoral Seminar was held on the Zoom platform on 14th September 2025 for Tanmaya Province, India, uniting members of all the communities of the Province for a reflective session on the theme: "Effectiveness in Our Religious Life to Be Prophetic Missionary."
The session was led by Advocate Sr. Remya Thomas, from the Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, who emphasized the call to become another Christ — to think, act, and live like Him in our daily ministry. To be truly effective, she stressed the need to be rooted in God, grounded in Charism, and present among people.
"We must embrace a spirituality that speaks, acts, and transforms," Sr. Remya affirmed.
Faith, Love, and Courage in Action
Sr. Remya invited participants to respond actively: to God in faith, to others in love, and to the times with courage. She called for vigilance, compassion, and boldness, reminding us to walk with people as Jesus did.
She also spoke about the need for emotional balance in ministry, underlining the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries within and outside religious communities.
A Call to Awareness and Engagement
Religious are called to imbibe the culture of Jesus—to be open to change, informed, and actively engaged with the world. Sr. Remya stressed the duty of religious to be responsible citizens, aware of current events, national issues, and the laws and Constitution of our country.
"Ignorance is a deadly weapon used against us," she warned.
Seeing Beyond the Visible
The session concluded with a reminder to look beyond immediate circumstances and cling to God’s promises. Sr. Remya encouraged participants to surrender personal insecurities, trust in God’s strength, and stay faithful to the Charism and Mission of our congregation.
She called on all to respond prophetically, serve with humility, and integrate faith with action—not from ego or activism, but with love and purpose.
This session was a powerful reminder that our effectiveness in religious life depends not just on what we do, but on how deeply we are rooted in Christ, how attentively we engage with the world, and how boldly we live out our call—as disciples, citizens, and prophetic missionaries.
