LIFE IN MISSIONARY COMMUNITY

On September 27, the Sisters of First Profession of the Congregation of St. Joseph of Chambéry gathered online for a formation meeting with the theme: "Life in Missionary Community in the Light of the First Christian Communities." The session was facilitated by Sister Kátia Sassi, from the Province of Brazil.

The main objective was to bring the sisters' hearts closer together and strengthen the bonds of belonging, regardless of the countries where each one is currently on mission. The meeting also aimed to foster reflection on the values of human relationships within missionary community life, revisiting the essential elements that identify religious consecration in light of Jesus Christ's proposal and the experience of the early Christian communities.

ECHOES FROM THE MEETING

During the sharing, some participants expressed deep feelings and meaningful insights: “I liked hearing that community is like a hug, a space of warmth where everyone needs to feel at ease, at home, and free.” “The community is like a learning laboratory.”

“In the community of disciples, Jesus meets each one with their vulnerabilities. He does not look at their actions, but at their hearts.” This formation moment renewed in all of us the desire to build paths that allow us to live as closely as possible to Jesus' proposal for community life, as the Gospel invites us:

“As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” (John 13:34)
