LIVING MEMORY, FRATERNITY, AND HOPE
Online event reinforces the mission of consecrated life as a sign of tenderness, care, and prophetic presence in the Church
On August 20, 2025, the Gathering of the Care Communities was held online, promoted by the Province, bringing together Sisters from various houses in a moment marked by fraternity, sharing, and the renewal of hope.
The opening of the gathering was led by Sister Maria da Consolação Rocha Coelho, Provincial, who, with affectionate and prophetic words, recalled the beauty of the vocation lived in all stages of life. In her message, she emphasized:
"We are always on mission. And the main mission of each Sister who lives in the care house is prayer, this deep intimacy with God. We are called to be signs of hope, more than promoters of activities."
SHARING FROM THE COMMUNITIES
The central moment of the gathering was marked by the presentations of four communities that shared, with creativity and affection, a glimpse of their daily life, experiences, and practices that strengthen integral care – of the body, mind, and spirit.
COMMUNITY OF SAINT JOSEPH – SÃO PAULO
With sensitivity, the Sisters presented a video showing moments of daily life, highlighting the importance of relationships and the spirituality lived in the silence of small actions. Simple gestures revealed the presence of God and the value of fraternal life together.
COMMUNITY OF SAINT JOSEPH OF THE PATRONAGE – VACARIA
The presentation highlighted the work of physiotherapy and occupational therapy, essential for the health and mobility of the Sisters. In a video, they showed individual and group activities, demonstrating how bodily care is also a way of dignifying consecrated life.
COMMUNITY OF SAINT LOUIS – PORTO ALEGRE
With joy and creativity, the Sisters brought the song “Aquarela” (Watercolor), inspired by the Fraternity Campaign. Alongside their lively presentation, they also shared their involvement in solidarity projects, such as making blankets and quilts for people affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
COMMUNITY OF NAZARETH – PORTO ALEGRE
With deep sensitivity, they reflected on the 12 principles of fraternal communication, inspired by the messages of Pope Francis. Their presentation combined key words, music, and reflections on closeness, tenderness, listening, and hope, touching everyone’s hearts.
FRUITS OF THE GATHERING
The sharings revealed the beauty of community life as a space of living memory, mutual care, and fidelity to the charism. Even the communities that did not present were present in spirit, gratefully welcoming the reflections and testimonies.
"It was very good to see the movement, the involvement of the Sisters, and the dedication of the professionals and collaborators. Physiotherapy and moments of togetherness reveal themselves as concrete signs of God’s presence among us," highlighted Sister Rita Tessaro at the conclusion of the gathering.
FINAL BLESSING
At the end, all joined in prayer, asking for the intercession of Mary and Saint Joseph. The Provincial Sister closed with a special blessing, encouraging the Sisters to continue being signs of hope and love in the evening of life.
