EXTENDED COUNCIL - CLOSING RITUAL

MISSION: WALKING TOGETHER

As pilgrims on the path of dialogue, discernment, and mission, we approached the last day of the Extended Council with open hearts, ready to begin anew. After ten fruitful days of journeying together, we continued the day by reading the final report. We prayed to the Lord to keep alive in us the passion for the Gospel, so that we may remain joyful missionary disciples—courageous in proclamation, creative in service, and sensitive to the pains of the world.

WORD OF GRATITUTDE

The General Council wholeheartedly expressed appreciation for the efforts of the translators—Sr. Preeti, Gabriella, and Claudia—as well as the ICC members, Srs. Eliana and Laveena, and the Secretary, Sr. Barbara. A token of love was presented to them in gratitude. Following this, Sr. Clara, on behalf of the participants, offered her heartfelt thanks to the General Council for making this gathering both memorable and successful.

CLOSING RITUAL – PLANTING SEEDS FOR TOMORROW

The closing ritual began with these words: “Let the richness of what we have experienced in these days resonate in our prayer and continue to nourish it, so that every day may be reborn in joy with the determination to be pilgrims on the paths of peace.”

During the sending forth ceremony, Sr. Dolores, our General Superior, anointed every participant saying, “May your life consecrated to God become for all a sign of hope, prophecy of the Kingdom, gift of Communion.” The General Councillors then presented each participant with a packet of seeds and a bookmark featuring the logo of the Extended Council, as a reminder to live out our call.

GOOD BYE NEMI

During lunch, Sr. Cristina, thanked Brother John and the others from his SVD comunity at Centro Ad Gentes in, Nemi, for their welcoming spirit, and generous service. At 2.30 pm we said goodbye to Nemi, wishing each other God’s blessings and a safe trip back home.
