20 Years of the Therapeutic Community Fazenda São José

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the Day of Consecrated Religious Life and the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, the Therapeutic Community Fazenda São José, in Lagoa Vermelha/RS, joyfully celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving for its 20th anniversary of foundation.
It was a moment of gratitude to God for so many lives and families restored, and of recognition for all who collaborated to make this mission possible.
In her remarks, Sister Italvina Bavaresco, president of the institution, expressed thanks to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, to public authorities, to benefactors and collaborators, and in a special way to Sister Maria da Paz Caimi, founder of the Community, together with Antonio Orli Antunes, the current internal coordinator.
Over these 20 years, more than 1,600 people from different states have been welcomed, finding here paths of freedom and new life. Since the beginning, ten Sisters have dedicated themselves freely to this mission, four of whom have already gone to the Father’s House.
At present, Sisters Italvina Bavaresco, Leonora Panisson, and Terezinha Zem continue to accompany this work with dedication, giving daily witness to the charism of unity.
May the Therapeutic Community Fazenda São José continue to be blessed by God and sustained by His grace, remaining a sign of hope and new life.
