Brazil - Bolivia and Argentina: associates get together for online training

On Saturday, August 17, an online formation meeting took place for the Associates of Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia. The theme for this event was: Charism, spirituality and identity of the Sisters of St. Joseph in the context of today and synodality. The event had more than 80 zoom connections (and each connection had groups of associates attending the meeting). The event was a part of a series of online formation meetings that are being organized by the Lay Coordination group of the entire Congregation. The United States and Europe, as well as India and Pakistan have already met for formation. Each group has its own Resource Persons. Sr. Rosalia Favero was the Resource Person for this Latin America group.

CONCRETE COMMITMENT IN SERVICE OF THE SIMPLE AND HUMBLE,

Srs. Maria Cristina Gavazzi and Elisa Fatima opened the meeting with words of welcome from the General Council. Sr. Arzila Pertile, from the Provincial Council of Brazil, was also present, as were several sisters who work with Associate groups.  

Among the points highlighted in the discussion was that there is no communion unless we walk together. Christian living is manifested in concrete commitment to the simple and humble, and we are words and deeds of love for the world. The importance of establishing new relationships with people and the environment was mentioned. We also discussed the need to deepen the Eucharist in giving oneself so that others may have life. Finally, that we are made in the image and likeness of God was highlighted.

GRATITUDE AND JOY

The meeting concluded with vote of gratitude for the richness of the formation. The participants expressed their joy at taking part in this moment and stressed how important it is that the Congregation continues to promote and offer meetings like this for the laity.
