Imagem Destaque

We gathered, Sisters of St. Joseph and Associates, Laypeople of the Little Project, in Hidrolândia, Goiás, Brazil, for the 12th National Meeting of the Sisters of St. Joseph from April 21st to 24th, 2024.

On Sunday, April 21st, there was a roundtable discussion among Sisters, associates, and laypeople, totaling 70 participants. From April 22nd to 24th, we were 37 in attendance - 27 Sisters of St. Joseph and 10 laypeople and associates.

We were guided by Sister Sueli Bellato from the Congregation of Our Lady. Under her guidance, we proceeded within the methodology of the Synod and in light of the Encyclical Fratelli Tutti, Chapter 3.

On April 22nd, we explored grateful memory by tracing the "Train" of the History of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brazil, from its origins. On the third day, we focused on mission and within it, the changes since our last meeting in 2016, the actions undertaken, and our desired responses to the challenges posed by our realities. That evening, we enjoyed fellowship and recreation, retiring with hearts filled with gratitude, joy, and hope.

On the fourth and final day, we discussed our dreams and affirmed the importance of continuing these national gatherings.

We underscored the importance of unity among our Congregations and Associates, mutually supporting one another. Concrete action suggestions were presented, and we agreed on continuing these meetings.

We observed that gradually, we have entered into a process of listening to and welcoming each other, and began considering ways to create an inclusive world, supporting one another as the St. Joseph Family.
