COMMUNION, MISSION, AND CO-RESPONSIBILITY MARKED THE DAY’S WORK
The second day of the Provincial Assembly of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry, Brazil, began with a warm welcome by Sr. Arzila Pertile, Provincial Counselor. Following that, the Caminho Novo Nucleus led an inspiring prayer moment, based on the biblical readings from the 3rd Sunday of Easter.
Next, Sr. Maria da Consolação, the Provincial Superior, together with Sr. Arzila, presented the Province’s indicators, based on data collected in 2024. The dimensions covered were: spirituality, mission, fraternal relationships, and administration.
There was also a review of some items from the Province’s Action Plan (2023–2027), especially regarding financial matters, in light of important guidelines such as the structure of participation in the Province and best accounting and financial practices.
DATA PROTECTION: AN INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT
Concluding the morning session, lawyer Mr. Josélio Teider and his team presented the status of the implementation of the Data Protection Program in line with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) in the Province, ensuring greater security and privacy for the institution and its members.
In the afternoon, Sr. Rosane Steffenon reported on the progress and organization of the policy’s structure within the Province. She emphasized the commitment to human dignity, justice, and care, and introduced the team responsible for this work.
MISSION IN THE DIGITAL WORLD AND TRANSFORMATIVE PRESENCE
Sr. Eliana Ap. dos Santos led a reflection on the Congregation’s presence on social media, highlighting that the digital world is part of everyday life and should be used with authenticity, truth, and responsibility.
Next, Sr. Rita Tessaro presented the social and human promotion projects supported by the Province. There are six projects in different centers, five of which were carried out in 2024 using resources from the Global Missionary Fund.
LAY ASSOCIATES AND VOCATIONAL ANIMATION
Sr. Rosália Fávero shared the process of valuing and including Lay Men and Women of the Little Project in the Province’s mission across various sectors. She highlighted the importance of shared mission and the need to intensify efforts in formation, openness, and welcoming.
Sr. Aline Tessaro then presented the Action Plan for the Vocational Animation Service, emphasizing that each community must feel co-responsible in promoting and accompanying vocations.
CALLED TO A NEW MISSION
Closing the day's work, Sr. Consolação Rocha Coelho presented a new mission proposal, inviting all sisters to reflect with care and openness on this calling, responding with generosity. A moment of reflection on the Assembly followed, highlighting the spirit of hope that filled all participants.
CELEBRATION AND GRATITUDE
The day concluded in a spirit of joy and gratitude, with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Idelfonso Salvadego, a La Salette missionary, and co-celebrated by Father Rafael, from the Diocese of Santarém (PA).
The entire day was marked by a spirit of communion, collaboration, and commitment, in which the sisters felt co-responsible for the success of this meaningful moment for the entire Province.
May St. Joseph intercede for us so that we may live out and fulfill in our daily lives and mission the inspirations that the Spirit has stirred in us throughout this process.
