LATIN AMERICAN SEMINAR OF THE SAN JOSÉ FAMILY - BOLIVIA

From January 6 to 10, the 8th Latin American and Caribbean Seminar of the San José Family took place in Cochabamba, with the theme: With Trinitarian Dynamism: Being Prophetic Mystics in a Synodal Key.

35 lay members of the San José Family and 47 sisters from 11 San José congregations participated, coming from various countries: Canada, Chambery, Cuneo, Buenos Aires, Instituto, Concordia, Carondelet, Orange, Philadelphia, Puerto Rico, Lyon, and Rochester.

The seminar was an enriching opportunity, with the presence of advisors who shared important topics for our personal growth and our mission. Among the speakers, the following stood out:

  • Elton Bozzetto, journalist, who addressed the topic Climate Change and the Environment, inviting us to reflect on the importance of acting to care for the "common home".

  • Juan Carlos Núñez Vidaurre, sociologist, who presented the topic Challenges of the Conjunctural Reality in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Sr. Mary McGlone CSJ, who shared the topic Prophetic Mysticism from Our Trinitarian Spirituality. She emphasized that "every member of the San José Family must act in the world inspired by Trinitarian love because everything was created through it. Everything that exists participates in the Trinitarian life."

  • Érika Aldunate, who spoke on the topic Charismatic Family in a Synodal Key. In simple terms, Synodality is understood as a path of spiritual renewal and structural reform, with the goal of making the Church more participatory and missionary, able to walk with everyone, men and women, radiating the light of Christ.

The seminar was indeed a grace-filled experience, in which we were able to share the lived experience of our Charism of Communion in mission. It was a time of deep presence of Jesus, the early sisters, and our founder João Pedro Médaille.
