    GENERAL CHAPTER IN NEMI ITALIA - DELEGATES BEGIN TO ARRIVE 11/21/21


    A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CITY OF NEMI

     

    Nemi is one of the most charming little towns in the Roman Castles. It has only 2,000 inhabitants. It developed on the top of the hill bordering Lake Nemi, which is nothing more than one of the craters of the extinct volcano. In ancient times, there was a temple dedicated to the goddess Diana Nemorense, goddess of the forests, on the shores of the lake called Nemus in heart of the forest.

     

     

     

    The temple was built by the people of the Latin League, probably as early as the 5th century BC. The lake was also known as the "mirror of Diana". The archaeological studies testify that the whole complex was provided with a canal, a huge cistern and a thermal building.

     

    In this beautiful city is the Ad Gentes center, where our General Chapter will be held.

     

     

    11/21 - ARRIVAL AND QUARANTINE

     

    The groups of delegates from different countries are slowly arriving at the Ad Gentes Center. The Sisters from Brazil and India have already arrived to make their quarantine according to Italian law.

     



     

     

     

    After seven days, all the sisters from India and Brazil have to take the antigen test for covid19. 4 Sisters who went through this test have the good news, of being Corona free. Let us hope that all of them may have the good news of being Corona free.

     

     

     

     

    REST AND MUTUAL HELP

     

    During this period of quarantine, Sisters have time to rest, get to know the houses and its surroundings, enjoy nature and the beautiful scenery that surrounds the place. They are also helping generously the team which is organizing and preparing the space for meeting.

     

     

     

    The days are passing quickly. For the 24th everything needs to be ready - the celebration space, the conference room, rooms for work groups and various materials...

     

    The Sisters during this time of quarantine are taking all with all the precautions to be Covid free but even with all the precautions the delegates are making all the efforts possible to come to know one another a little better, which is very important for our General Chapter.
