    01.15.2021 | Nagpur Province

    3rd Jan 2021 -  EPIPHANY

The feast of the Three Kings was meaningfully celebrated,  with the sisters  moving to the prayer room,  singing the hymn,  which was followed by the prayer of the church. This brought about the  significance of following the star and the three wise men, on  the way to Bethlehem where  the Babe lying in the manger was encountered, incarnating joy, love and peace.

Later the members  began with re- reading and finalizing  the Vision - Mission Statement and the Action Plan,  Structures and Forms of Governance of the Province;  thus a  Final Document emerged.

The Temporary Professed  sisters had a surprise awaiting the whole group. They organized  a unique prayer service expressing gratitude to the outgoing team for their excellent service of love to the Province,  and welcoming and wishing the newly elected team. This followed a  felicitation of both teams, and vote of thanks for the rest of the committees and individuals who worked towards the smooth working of the Chapter. Sr. Flavia, the main facilitator of the chapter was also felicitated.  Sr. Philomena, the president of the chapter, then declared the 9th Chapter of Elections, closed.

The day concluded  with  a very meaningful Eucharistic Liturgy, with the Archbishop of Nagpur, Rev. Archbishop Elias Gonsalves, as the Celebrant. He was accompanied to the altar through a magnificent  dance at the Entrance  procession.  In his homily, he stressed upon the aspect of prayer life which could strengthen love and faith,  but only sufferings could deepen our prayer life.... therefore there was an enormous  need to embrace the little crosses that come our way.

The sisters of the chapter then departed to their communities carrying with them the joy, love and the spirit of the chapter.
