On Sunday, October 25, 2020, Sr. Maria Cristina Gavazzi, Provincial, in fidelity to the Constitution and with the deliberative vote of the councillors, namely Sr. Teresa and Sr. Alessandra, convoked the XV Chapter of the Italian Province, after the Second Vatican Council. The theme of the chapter is: “Communities Enlivened by the Spirit for a World in Gestation”, recalling three important elements that are in the theme of the next General Chapter “Communities Immersed in the Spirit, Connected with the World”, which will be held in October 2021.
The Provincial Chapter will take place in Rome in two sessions, respectively from January 29 to 31, 2021 and from April 29 to May 2, 2021, in view of electing the new Provincial Team to give a new impetus to the spiritual and religious life of the Province and strengthen its unity.
In the letter, Sr. Maria Cristina refers to the ongoing pandemic situation and Pope Francis' last encyclical "Fratelli Tutti". She also focuses on two important aspects central to consecrated life: the importance of listening to the Word and rediscovering fraternity within communities. From communities, it will be possible to share the fire and light of Christ that are generated in those who live “totally centred” on God, as the holy founders teach us, “who have become lights for generations of people in search of the same depths or surprises of the existence of such depths ".
