10.26.2020 | United through Zoom.... Connecting to the roots....

To mark the 370th Foundation Day of our Congregation, the Leadership Team along with the Communication members of Tanmaya Province, India, organized the virtual gathering via Zoom on October 13. Nearly 120 sisters were present. Indeed, it was a time to reminiscence the manifold blessings received from the Lord.

The presence of sisters Philo, our General Councillor, Jona, and Malati added much joy to our gathering. Of course, we missed Srs. Jayarani, Betsy, and those who could not join us.

We glanced through the pages of the history of our Little Design through a video presentation prepared by the International Communication Commission (ICC), which enabled each of us to savour the rich legacy of our Congregation. There was owe and wonder seen on the faces of sisters. Sr. Prabha, the Provincial Superior, in her message, invited each of us to be a sign and bearer of God’s love by being women of faith, prayer, love, and relationships. Further, she urged us to keep in mind the vision of Christocentric life of communion and prophetic witness in the peripheries of our fractured world.

“What about the dear neighbour, is she dear neighbour or dearest neighbour?

The rich thoughts of Sr. Philo on our Foundation Day, was like a sword passing through our inner being. She placed before us this question. “What about the dear neighbour, is she dear neighbour or dearest neighbour?  Is the person next to me healed or disturbed? Am I happy about knowing my sister a little more?” Further, she concluded by saying, “this pandemic has given us time to stitch a new garment that will fit for all, humanity and creation.”

Srs. Jona, the Provincial Superior of France, shared about the life and mission in France. Sr. Malati expressed her deep gratitude for inviting her for this virtual gathering and shared her vivid mission experience in Tanzania.  Most of the sisters expressed their joy of seeing one another through a virtual platform. We also felt blessed to have a moment with Sr. Mariaelena, who was on her visit to Tanzania mission.

There was sufficient space allotted for the sisters to share their views and concerns. All were indeed happy to have this gathering. While sharing about the experience of virtual get-together, Sr. Jaya Rakkini commented, “It was unbelievable! I could see almost all the sisters of our province on the screen.” For Sr. Vibha, “It was a wonderful gathering we could see, listen, and communicate with each other. It was a time of exuberance.”

Thus, this virtual get-together ended with a wishing finale prepared by every community.
