07.13.2020 | Transformative Process of a God Oriented Journey

The Lord opened to us the gates of holiness as we entered the precincts of Inter Congregational Juniorate (ICJ). We give thanks to the Lord God and proclaim, ‘How great is Your name, for You have done marvellous deeds for us’ through our sisters and Professors at ICJ. We remember the words of St. Paul to the Corinthians 3/6: “I sowed the seeds, Apollos watered but it was God who gave the increase.” Similarly, the ground was first prepared, seeds sown and faithfully watered; the plant grew and blossomed. We are among those chosen blossoms- the 36th batch of ICJ! By the grace of God, 39 members from 13 congregations lived together at ICJ Tanmaya from July 2019 to March 2020 to experience the transformative process of our God- oriented journey.

As we glance through the pages of our journey’s history, from the day of our initiation until this day, we cherish and treasure what we have received. It was a wonderful experience staying here. Coming together from far and wide with a specific purpose, set the right platform to experience oneness and the joy of living together. Though the initial stage was challenging, everything, later fell into place as we adjusted and moved freely, experiencing sisterhood and unifying love. We appreciate the successful efforts of the Institute to provide refreshing courses and theological updates. We are really fortunate to receive many valuable classes on various topics by proficient, knowledgeable and spirit filled professors. Their deep insights, reflections and discussions enlightened us and broadened our thinking capacity. The experiences and guidance receivedmakes us confident to stand and face any adversity we may confront in our religious life. We were motivated, moulded and shaped, to be vibrant and effective persons on mission.

Prayer, the soul of religious life, unites us to God and makes us live in and with Him. ICJ is the power house of transformation. Here, we were inspired, nourished and enriched to live totally for Jesus. Different forms of prayer helped us to build our relationship with Jesus.

Throughout the year we had diverse celebrations, each one being special and uniquely rich in itself. There were several opportunities to know different cultures and traditions, whichbrought about feelings of oneness in our diversity, thus increasing our love and respect for each another. The different competitions enabled us to discover our many hidden talents, gifts and potential buried deep within us.

Every Sunday evening, we gathered together to be enriched by the sharing of the origin, charism and organization, well presented by individual congregations. We were amazed to learn of the different charisms and ministries each individual congregation lived out in varied ways, all with the same purpose.

Every Tuesday, we gathered to listen to the vocation story of each sister, which itself was inspiring and faith nurturing. These were precious moments to recallour ownresponse to our personal vocation story. It has strengthened our calling and deepened our faith in the Lord who called us.

In short, with all these experiences and, with the light of Christ we are convinced thatwe can now move ahead with zeal and enthusiasm in this challenging world to proclaim the Word of God courageously and live our lives purposefully.
