TRAINING FOR VIDEOGRAPHY AND LIVESTREAMING

Sister. Navya Neelamvilail CSJ, coordinator of ICC trained another group of the sisters of the province of Pachmarhi. At the request of the Provincial Sister. Maurice, 6 days of intense course was organized from 5-10 March 2023 in Pachmarhi on Videography and YouTube Livestreaming.

On the first day of the class basic skills for videography was explained to the group of eight sisters of the province. The participants were asked to create a two-minute video story of 12 clips 10 seconds each using their cell phones. Everyone came up with very interesting and creative video stories. The detail of each shot and story was discussed in the class.

The group was further trained for taking continuous videos for 5-10 minutes or longer keeping in mind that in live streaming of an event the video cannot be stopped in between.

We were also taught the basic rules of photography, editing in Canva and creating YouTube thumbnail. During the course of our practice, we were fortunate to have the International Women’s Day and the festival of Holi. The video of the celebrations was shot by the participants. All the photos of this article are also taken by the group during the training.

Live streaming was the next task. All of us felt it a bit difficult in the beginning but once we really got into the practice it was really amazing and knew that it was worth learning.  We got the opportunity to practice live steaming of the daily Eucharist keeping the visibility on ‘unlisted’, where the video will not be seen by the public. 

After learning the advantages of media we all felt that it is an excellent tool to proclaim the Word of God and   to create an awareness of all that is taking place in the world around us.
