    01.28.2023 | Brazil - 3rd Provincial Chapter - Active Listening

ACTIVE LISTENING WITH AN OPEN HEART

On the 27th of January 2023, we gathered for the second day of the Provincial Chapter. We started our day with a prayer in which we remembered all the constructions lived, sharing, meetings, and reflections, carried out online, that were a landmark for this event.

After prayer and reflection, we allowed ourselves to reverberate and be inspired by the three-chapter sessions that preceded this moment.  We delved deep into the richness of the resonances of the social situation, the Church, Religious Life, Interculturality, and Protection of all creation.

Sr. Marian guided us to reflect on the importance of the theme of this Chapter. She underlined the importance of listening to what God wants from us.

After Sister Marian's talk and reflections and sharing of each of us, we were invited to share our dreams and plans as a group, with the aim of designing proposals to be implemented by the Provincial Chapter. We ended the morning sessions with group discussions. We were told to share the group work we had done in the afternoon session.

The afternoon session began with active and open-hearted listening to all the proposals presented by the different groups. We noticed and cultivated the connections, but we were also open to the new, welcoming differences as richness, and value sharing.

Thereafter, we reflected, as a group, on the proposals built for the organization and government of the Province. United as one heart and one soul, we seek to be instruments of renewal and continuity of the mission.

TOUCHED BY THE SPIRIT TO PERCEIVE THE SIGNS OF GOD

Finally, we participated in a Eucharistic Celebration, in which we were touched by the Spirit to perceive the signs of God in our life, to give thanks for our history and origin, and to assume with courage, hope, and faith the challenges and opportunities.

    Sr. Rosa Maria Porangaba
