“IF YOU WANT TO WALK FAST, WALK ALONE, BUT IF YOU WANT TO WALK FAR, WALK TOGETHER.”

“Leaders as Leaven is a very empowering and inspiring experience. I believe that all of us are leaders in the way we are and we are in the process all through our life. This programme touches and awakens my consciousness to explore the treasures within for a fuller life for all.” Sr. Emily Joseph (Lyon)

This was not only the experience of Sr. Emily but of all the participants of the Leaders as Leaven Programme. The longest journey in one’s life is the journey inward. Walking through this journey requires constant awareness and realization of self.

    CONTENTMENT AND GRATITUDE

The fourth day (last day) of the ‘Leaders as Leaven’ journey of mentor-mentee began with a meaningful Eucharistic Celebration. At 9.00 am, Sr. Bozak extended a few insights to the participants on the leadership development plan. The group was asked to reflect on leadership before and after participating in the Leaders as the Leaven Programme. The insights were then displayed on both sides of the wall. Participants went around, reading each other’s insights.

In the afternoon session, after the common modalities, evaluation sheets were distributed, after which instant feedback was asked of the group. There was a feeling of contentment, gratitude, greater awareness, and readiness for the inward journey. While interacting with Sr. Imelda Soosaimanikam (Annecy), she said, “This programme helped me to be aware of myself, it's a great support for self-development, it's an inward journey, ongoing progress, with a spirit of hope.”

    MOVE TOWARD THE INNER JOURNEY

“Leadership is about learning how to shape the future. It has been an enriching experience for me to be part of this training programme for 'Leaders as Leaven.' I express my deep gratitude and appreciation to Sr. Barbara for organizing this session at LAC (Lyon-Annecy-Chambery) level,” expressed Sr. Prabha Malayil (Chambery)

The participants thanked Sr. Barbara for her initiative and tireless effort, admired and acknowledged her love for the Indian Sisters. The group expressed gratitude to Kathia Castro Laszlo, the resource person who helped the mentees with their Leadership Circle Profile. The group also felt grateful to the organizers, Sr. Lilly Padayattil (Chambery), Sr. Amala Doss (Annecy), and Sr. Lucy Parakkattu (Lyon), for meticulous planning. The mentors and mentees thanked each other.

The group witnessed the dynamic move toward the inner journey during the closing ritual. Table groups were invited to the front where Sr. Barbara handed over a lit candle, asking us to be bearers of light for each other.

    Srs. Nidhi & Laveena (Chambery)
