10.14.2022 | The Meeting of Junior Sisters 2022

    SHARING OF LIFE IN MISSION

From October 9 to 11, 2022, the second meeting of the Junior Sisters took place in St. Joseph Community, Cristinápolis/Sergipe. The aim of the meeting was to be together to share our life journey, evaluate the Action Plan, and get to know the reality and mission of the region, as well as formation.  Sr. Dominga Zolet spoke on the theme “Prophecy in the Bible”. The controversies of this topic were discussed based on the prophets of yesterday/today and prophecy into our realities.

Sisters Eunice Cordeiro, Elenice Reis dos Santos, Lucidalva Silva and Josiane G. Leopoldino were present for the meeting. Srs. Franceli de L. Bernardes and Maria Durães shared their life and mission via video call. Srs. Clementina Copia, the Provincial Superior of Italy, and Elisa de Fátima Zuanazzi, the General Councilor, were present to encourage, inspire and add to the happiness and grace of the meeting. They congratulated the juniors and promised their prayers for them, especially for Sr. Josiane, who will give her generous and definitive yes to God in November 2022.

    A COMFORTABLE AND DESIRED PLACE

We shared our journey of life with Sr. Luiza Rodrigues who accompanies the juniors. We came to know Sisters Vanda and Helena who form the community together with Sr. Elenice and a little of the realities and mission where the Sisters work.

We participated in the Eucharistic celebration in a community in the region. We also visited the St. Joseph shelter, which conducts programs of recreation and tutoring for children in the morning and teaches crafts to mothers in the afternoon.  We also visited the sewing workshop, where women learn not only a profession but also the culture of encounters, sharing their lives and moments of spiritual strengthening.

The community prayers in the morning and afternoon, and sharing of food and gifts helped to make the meeting a place of comfort and warmth, where everyone felt “at home”.

Gratitude to God and the community that accepted the proposal.
