YOUTH MEETING - “YOUNG PEOPLE GOING OUT TO DO WHATEVER JESUS TELLS THEM, WALKING HAND IN HAND WITH MARY” (JN 2:5).

The Youth Encounter of the Apostolic Vicariate of Beni took place in San Ramón, Beni/Bolivia, on the 18th, 19th, and 20th of August 2022, with the motto: “Young people going out to do whatever Jesus tells them, walking hand in hand with Mary” (Jn 2:5).

The various topics addressed on this occasion included the revision of the Pastoral Plan for Vocational Youth, the mission of young people, the role of young people with biblical foundations, and young people in the now of God.

There were Youth representatives from the different parishes for this event. We organized this event with the aim of strengthening the spirituality of our young people through mutual sharing and togetherness so that they may be encouraged to undertake the new challenges of the current reality and rediscover their baptismal commitment, accompanying them in their spiritual growth and vocational discernment.

    Togetherness and Unity

Ministry of Vocational Youth with the guidance of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery and the help of the parish, and the people of San Ramon, made this long-awaited meeting a reality. The meeting was special because it was planned before the Pandemic lockdown of 2020 and, they also had to go through the roadblocks in the country. However, we overcame all the obstacles and the meeting took place.  It was of great benefit to everyone.

I feel so happy that I had the opportunity to organize and participate in this event.  It was truly a synodal journey of the Church, which walks together, in its diversity holding hands. I was happy to see young people, Priests, Religious, and Bishops joyfully participating and sharing their life together. I believe that our presence as Sisters of St. Joseph is a presence of unity.

    Sister Ericka Rodriguez Salvatierra
