FIRST RELIGIOUS PROFESSION OF SR. LUCIDALVA SILVA

In the afternoon of June 25th, 2022, Sr. Lucidalva Silva made her First Religious Profession at St. Joseph Convent in Curitiba/PR. Fr. Fábio Eduardo Pinto presided over the Eucharistic Celebration of the First Religious Profession of Sr. Lucidalva Silva. Her family members, lay people, sisters and friends were present for the celebration. It was a beautiful moment of thanksgiving for the journey made by Sr Lucidalva. Sr. Kátia Rejane Sassi, the Provincial, joyfully welcomed Sr. Lucidalva in the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambery.

Sr. Kátia said that “It is good that Communities participate in the celebration and support one another with their prayer and togetherness”.  All the people present, in one way or the other, remembered the process made by Lucidalva. She left her homeland Bahia and went to São Paulo, Curitiba, Vacaria/RS, Mostardas/RS, Mariental/PR and now she will be going to Pinhais/PR. She is transferred to Pinhais community, where she will carry out her mission, along with the sisters and the people.

    RENEW OUR “YES”

Jesus continues to call the generous and courageous people. One needs to hear like the disciples to His voice. “Go into deeper waters, cast your nets for fishing”, was the motto chosen by Sr. Lucidalva because this Gospel text has inspired and encouraged her journey. Now this text will be even more the strength and the light for her daily life as a consecrated person, who pursues to respond faithfully to the call to seek deeper waters.

In response to the Word of Jesus, “cast the nets for fishing”, let’s do it with confidence in God's providence, which has allowed us to cast the nets even when humanly we feel tired, limited and without results. Let’s with humility and counting on God's grace, put ourselves in an attitude of learning anew and always starting afresh.

FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS OF NAZARETH

Sr. Lucidalva's “yes” helps us to renew our “yes” and launch the nets to bring communion, rebuild broken bonds and bridges of dialogue.

We thank and praise God for this sublime moment and we ask for the intercession of our founder Fr. Jean Pierre Médaille and our first Sisters for the fidelity of our Sr. Lucidalva and for the continuity so that our charism may be realized increasingly, through people who are willing to follow the footsteps of Jesus of Nazareth.

    Sr. Franceli Bernardes, Sao Paulo
