EVERYTING IS GRACE - “IT’S GOD WHO LEADS US”

I, Sister Ana Maria, share with you a little of what I experienced on the 14th and 15th of May, in the Communities of Nueva Calama and Cayoba, especially in relation to work among young people. On Saturday morning was reserved for reflection, prayer and sharing and the afternoon for leisure and socializing. In the evening, we had the celebration of the Word of God with the people of the Nossa Senhora del Pilar community.

On Sunday, we went to another community, Cayoba.  The young people were all happy and excited. We got into the canoe at four in the morning on the Itonama River and sailed down the river for five hours. The moon seemed to accompany us, illuminating the waters where the canoe was going to pass. We began to pray the rosary, sing and contemplate the beauty of CREATION. We reflected on the tenderness of God.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE OUR PLANET MORE BEAUTIFUL?

The day was dawning; the moon was giving way to the sun which was bringing beautiful rays on the waters. The birds were chirping and the aquatic flowers were of exuberant beauty. It was really fantastic! Whole creation seemed thanking the CREATOR for the new day. I remembered Laudato SI and JPIC, which motivate us to take care of the Common Home. I asked the young people what they understood about the word Habitat?

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MAKE OUR PLANET INCREASINGLY BEAUTIFUL?

A beautiful reflection emerged: different habitats, home of fish... of birds and human beings... Water, Air and Earth; different habitats but in the same Common Home that is the Planet; we human beings are co-responsible for the care of this home. Finally, this is a question for everyone: What can we do to make our habitats (the planet) increasingly beautiful?

For me it was a different experience with a group of young people. My difficulty with the Spanish language was accepted by the simple youth and we grew and learned together.

Praised be my Lord for all his creatures!
