“CONNECTING OUR GIFTS FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD”
The US province elected a new leadership team on May 22, 2022: S. Sally Hodgdon, provincial, S. Ann Kane and S. Susan Cunningham, councilors, and S. Kristin Johnsen, alternate councilor. For the first time, the US province held its 2022 provincial chapter not in the provincial house but at Holy Family Monastery, owned by the Passionist priests who are friends of the community. Thirty-one sisters gathered for the four-day chapter process and live-streamed the informational parts to those who were not able to be physically present. Three associates joined the group for the first day contributing their enthusiasm and ideas to how we would live out the General Chapter calls. We were eased into the chapter process by preparatory ZOOM calls with our facilitator who then guided us wisely through the in-person process.
TOGETHER WE CAN ADVANCE THE REIGN OF GOD
Sr. Dolores, the superior general, opened the chapter with her reflections and words of wisdom, pointing out the importance of embracing our vulnerability. We then focused on how we would live out Community Immersed in the Spirit, Interculturality, and Care of all Creation in the coming years, recognizing that we will work out the details with the new council.
Having been together for the first time in two years, we leave the chapter looking forward to gathering again in the future and how, together, we can advance the reign of God in our world today.
