AN ANNUAL REMINDER ON ENVIRONMENT TO LIVE A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFE
The staff and students of St. Joseph's Convent School, Ratlam, celebrated Earth Day on April 22. Students portrayed the theme 'Invest in our Planet' announced by the Global Organization (Earthday.org) by bringing together all the information about Earth Day. Originally observed in 1970, Earth Day has become a worldwide event. Since then, it has served as a reminder to learn more about sustainability and live a more sustainable life.
The program began with Lord's blessings, followed by a short history of Earth Day to make the younger generation aware of the deteriorating environment of then and now.
MAKE THE EARTH A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE
The students performed dances, skits, and action songs to demonstrate the importance of making our planet healthier, better, and more sustainable. Through chart presentation, they depicted the basic actions necessary to invest in our planet and the need to save natural resources.
By keeping the thought of protecting nature, the coordinators presented saplings to the principal and vice-principal of the school. Sr Jessy, the Principal of the school, inspired, motivated, and encouraged the students with words of encouragement to make the earth a better place to live. At the end of the event students took an oath to protect the environment.
THIS EARTH IS ONE AND ONLY ONE
WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE
SO WE MUST CARE FOR IT, SAVE IT, PROTECT IT.
