03.30.2022 | Brazilian Province celebrates St. Joseph and Jubliares

    DOUBLE CELEBRATION IN CURITIBA

"St. Joseph, a just and kind man; you were so humble that you became a servant; your silence and faithfulness spoke of the God’s deeds."

On March 19 in joyful gratitude to God, we, the Sisters of St. Joseph, gathered at St. Joseph Convent in Curitiba to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, and renew the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. On this occasion, we also celebrated the Diamond and platinum Jubilee of the religious profession of the Sisters. Fr. Fabio Eduardo Pinto, a Camillian Priest presided over the holy Eucharist.

It was a simple celebration in which we thanked God and St. Joseph profoundly for their unfailing presence in the Congregation and in the life of every Sister of St. Joseph.

The feast of St. Joseph is celebrated by the entire Church, but for the Sisters of St. Joseph, this day is significant. It’s a time to contemplate on the life-giving silence, patience, love and care of St. Joseph and the mission entrusted to him. And today, once again we praise God for the grace to celebrate feast of our Patron St. Joseph.

60 AND 70 YEARS OF CONSECRATION - A WITNESS OF LIFE AND FAITHFULNESS

On the feast on St. Joseph, we also celebrated the Diamond and platinum Jubilee of the religious profession of the Sisters namely: Lídia Smaniotto, and Carmelia schiochet (60 YEARS) and Joannita Dematté, (70 YEARS). Sr. Katia Rejane Sassi, Provincial Superior addressed Jubilarians saying: "Thank you, dear Sisters, for the testimony of life and faithfulness, especially in times of challenge and uncertainty. You have remained firm in your mission and have given your dedicated service to the dear neighbour for the Kingdom of God.

Sr. Katia invited all the Sisters to renew their vows along with the jubilarians. She encouraged the sisters to remember their commitment, responsibility and The Little Design of life. "We are grateful to our founder, Fr. Jean-Pierre Médaille, for giving “the Little Design” to our Congregation which has been an inspiration for more than 370 years. We thank him for keeping us under the protection of St. Joseph so that we can learn from his examples to live the relationships of simplicity and cordial charity.

LET US CONTINUE TO OFFER OUR LIFE

We renewed our vows in one voice, committing ourselves to go forward in community, with faith and love, to live our offering each day, in the service of others, so that they all may be one in Christ.

May St. Joseph continue to assist and protect under his mantle, the Mission of the Congregation entrusted to each Sister of St. Joseph. May St. Joseph help us to live the virtues of Humility and cordial charity in our relationships. May he help us to live the "total union of ourselves and others with God, union of others among themselves and with us but all in Jesus and in God his Father". And thus, we may be a leaven of unity in the world.

"Sisters, let us continue to offer our life, as a gesture of love and service.
