GENERAL CHAPTER IMPLEMENTATION

Once again, the Covid Pandemic spread its fangs far wide – this time preventing the Sisters of the Tanmaya Province, from meeting in person for Chapter of Implementation held from 2^nd Feb. to 6^th Feb. 2022. But thanks to modern technology that via Zoom, almost all the Sisters of the Province, would participate in the same. It was very heartening specially to see the elderly Sisters and those unable to travel, taking part in the same.

The total programme could be carried out or chalked out initially. True, that interacting between members before, during and after each session was limited, but all the same, those who attended via Zoom, had more than a fair idea of the overall working of the General Chapter 2022 held at Nemi, Rome.

On the first day of the implantation Chapter it was wonderful to meet our outgoing General Team via Zoom. The members of the Provincial Leadership Team thanked for their support, guidance and timely help. In turn Sisters Sally, Ieda, Mariaelena and Philomena prayed for the sisters and blessed them.

DEEP IMMERSION AND ATTENTION LISTENING TO THE WORLD

 Sisters Prabha, Laveena and the delegates Sisters Nidhi and Jessy to the General Chapter did an extremely fine job creating for us the whole atmosphere of the General Chapter date wise, including the opening the ritual, and the closing ceremony where the image of each shell was placed before the participants reminding them of a deep immersion and attention listening to the world, spiraling down deeper into more intimate experiences of the Spirit, of the Word, and our Call.

The topics taken up daily at the General Chapter were skillfully handled by the team individually. The creative power point or video presentation helped a great deal in assimilating the subject matter dealt with. At the conclusion of each session, we too met either in our communities or Break Room to answer the given questions. This made us really think of our present situation or what was required of us in future to build a better world for the people we live with, or for the younger generation that be following in our footsteps.

CALLS TO THE CONGREGATION

On the final day i.e. on the 6^th Feb. we heard the calls to the Congregation …

• To bring the reign of God in this fragmented world, we as Sisters of St. Joseph are called to deepen our CSJ charism, our spirituality, and live out in our daily life, the Chapter Theme “Community immersed in the Spirit connected with World”.

• We as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ ought to live intercultural life style, moving from multiculturality to interculturality.

• As women connected with the world, we are called to learn toward and support one another, caring for and protecting all creation, caring for life in all dimension, in other world to live the appears of Laudate Si.

• To involved the Sisters, Associates and Lay Partners in the work of justice, advocating for the defense of the less privileged (Women, Children, Migrants etc.)

BELOVED DISCIPLES OF JESUS

Finally, as beloved disciples of Jesus, we were asked to continue listening to one another, to our realities and to the whispers of the Holy Spirit dwelling in and among us, as the One Who guides our efforts, with a breath of life upon us all, to become the Congregation that God calls us to be, for we are “COMMUNITY IMMERESED IN THE SPIRIT, CONNECTED WITH THE WORLD.”
