SISTER ANA MARIA DE JESUS
"GO TO ALL PEOPLES TO PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS"
I am Sister Ana Maria de Jesus of the province of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery in Brazil. I was invited to have a missionary experience with the Sisters in Bolivia. I arrived in Bolivia on June 12, 2021, in the midst of the pandemic. After my quarantine in Cochabamba, I went to the region of Beni in Trinidad, to do the paperwork and thereafter to Magdalena, my Mission Community.
Since we were in the Pandemic of Covid-19, we stayed at home and enjoyed our community living. It was a time of great learning and grace, but also of challenge for I did not know Spanish.
BEING A HOPEFUL PRESENCE
Little by little I got to know the reality of the people through visits to the families and understood their situations of poverty, unemployment, abuse, violence and hunger. We saw a large organization of Narco-trafficking, which is a challenge to the country. I feel called by God to be a hopeful presence in spite of my limitations and weaknesses.
I am very grateful for the patience and attention of our Sisters during my time of learning the language and the situation.
