THE FAMILY HAS GROWN

We gathered for the regional assembly from January 3 to 8, 2022, in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia. We celebrated the growth of our region, the expansion of our tent as four missionaries joined us in 2021 to embrace interculturality and intercongregationality. Srs. Marta Villafañe and María Lidia Pereira are from the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Buenos Aires, Sr. Ana María de Jesús is from the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery from the Province of Brazil and Sr. Joilma Maurina Matos is from the Italian Province which belonged to Pinerolo. The presence of the new sisters filled us with joy as they are open to a new mission experience in Bolivia.

Despite the uncertainties caused by the pandemic, the God of Life allowed us to meet again. Our meeting was fraternal and full of life and we could share with each other ourselves and our mission and above all praise and thank God for our togetherness and good health.

NEW COORDINATION TEAM

The main theme of this Assembly was to share about the General Chapter that took place in Nemi, Italy from November 24th to December 11th, 2021. The delegates of our region, Srs. Santina and Ericka, shared their beautiful experience. They also shared with us the celebration and inspirational talks of the Chapter with the theme "Communities immersed in the spirit, connected with the world".

Other moments that enriched us and filled us with joy were the presence of the General Council through the zoom (Sr. Sally, Sr. Marialena and Sr. Philomina) and in-person presence of Sr Ieda. During the assembly, we elected the new regional coordination team that generously said yes to this service for five years. Sr. Antonia Mandro is coordinator and Srs. Madina Moroña and Gabriela Cuellar are team members. 

We concluded our annual planning. We are very grateful for this opportunity of seeing one another and living together as a group. We returned to our communities strengthened by prayer, unity, sharing and harmony.
