CELEBRATION OF THE COMMITMENT OF THE ASSOCIATES OF THE LITTLE DESIGN

On October 24th, Sunday morning, 10 Associates of the Little Design of Espírito Santo made their Commitment namely: Ana da Costa Leal; Ana Rodrigues Oliveira; Elisabete Gomes da Silva; Eunice Ribeiro Vieira; Maria José Daniel dos Santos; Luiza Fazollo Pena; Maiuza Pereira de Carvalho da Silva; Katia Regina da Conceição Silva; Terezinha Dally Mateus and Maria Conceição de Souza Rodrigues. Sr. Helena de Fátima dos Passos, animator of the Santíssima Trindade Nucleus, accepted the commitment of the Associates.

Sr. Maria Rodrigues, who has been taking care of her mother for some time, renewed her vows on the same day, as she was unable to do so on the feast of St. Joseph (March 19). Srs. Terezinha Fachin, Adelina Batista and the young missionary Jaqueline Dias participated in the Celebration.

    SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO LIFE

Fr.  José Luiz presided over the Eucharistic celebration. It was a beautiful moment to participate in the celebration of the commitment of these Associates who wish to live the Charism and Spirituality of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in their families and places of pastoral and social action.

During the homily, the priest highlighted the importance of the presence of the Sisters in Sierra and their ability to share and encourage women to live the charism. He also emphasized on “spirituality of the Sisters of St. Joseph which they transmit. It is a simple gospel-oriented lifestyle that aims to imitate Jesus Christ. We will be spiritual when we can say like Paul the Apostle 'I am no longer the one who lives, it is Christ who lives in me'”.

    WALK AND INSPIRE

The group has been meeting for over fifteen years. This moment is an expression of gratitude for a journey together in the mission which the Sisters carried out in Vila Nova Colares, a peripheral area which is full of challenges and vulnerabilities.

May each of these women inspire our journey in our Congregation in the service and commitment to life for a more just and supportive world.
