NEW FACES AMONG EUROPEAN LEADERS

On Sunday, 3^rd October, the leaders of the Provincial and Regional Councils of Europe met via ZOOM in the presence of Sr. Sally Hodgdon - Superior General, who coordinated the meeting and Sr. Mariaelena Aceti, the representative of the General Council.

According to the agenda of the afternoon, the meeting began with the introduction of the members of the new provincial councils from France, Italy and Norway. The European leaders group is enriched due to the entry of new and young faces namely: three Sisters from Vietnam who are part of Provincial Council of Norway, two new Sisters in the Provincial Council of France and among whom one is from India, and three new leaders in the Italian Province, including two Sisters from the Congregation Sisters of St. Joseph of Pinerolo.

REFLECT, SHARE, PROPOSE

Leaders were invited to reflect and share in the groups their answers to three questions which were given by the Core Group:

• We already have work in progress: formation, prayer calendar, retreats, leadership meetings - where are we going now?

• How to continue the ongoing missionary presence in Savoy?

• How to involve our younger members in initial formation and the sisters under 60 in the European network? Any idea or suggestion that can help us to live more in Europe: for example, the opening of an intercultural community, more young Sisters participating in the meetings of the European network, the involvement of the USA province in the European network.

The groups made some concrete proposals that will be discussed on Sunday, October 10, and that will be presented in the in-person General Chapter Meeting, scheduled to take place in Nemi (RM) from November 24th to December 11th, 2021.
