In her introduction, she invited the group to look at one another’s faces and observe their feelings, the faces that accompany formation with great hopes and dreams. She then presented some views of sisters in first profession – what mission meant to them as consecrated women and what is the vow of obedience. She focused on vows and mission in the light of the Gospel taken from Luke 9:28 -36, which highlights the transfiguration of Jesus. Just as Jesus revealed the face of His Father, the formators are called to reveal the face of Jesus to the women in formation.
She posed a few questions about the vow of obedience and requested the assembly to share their thoughts and reflections regarding the meaning of the vow and their comments about what the newer members feel living this vow in mission. Then the participants were asked to share their views and the views of the newer members regarding mission.
In the afternoon session, Sister Nilva Dal Bello, the coordinator of the JPIC commission came online to discuss how we can implement the content of JPIC in initial formation.
