Formed by Jesus to give feet to the dream

The International Session for Formators commenced with the opening ritual conducted by the core team. It was a heart-warming experience for everyone when all gathered together, enjoying the sun’s rays on the vineyard terrace at Casaletto. With rhythmic steps and singing the anthem, the group entered the conference hall. In the hall, the participants were invited to contemplate their feet and the feet of the other person sitting next to them. Prayer regarding the feet that have sustained the formators’ accompaniment of those in formation was very enriching.

The opening address by Sr. Sally Hodgdon, Superior General, emphasized the sacredness of being a formator, and she encouraged the group to reach out to those in formation with great love, to love oneself and let themselves be loved by others.

In the afternoon, the group walked to the “Piazza del Poppolo” (Ignatian Entry), they were led in a symbolic gesture of entering the site with St. Ignatius of Loyola, as he arrived with his companions. The group was moved to experience the richness of the life of St. Ignatius. That exercise concluded with the Eucharistic celebration.

The day concluded with celebrating the birthday of Sr. Mariaelena, General Councilor.
