    GENERAL CHAPTER IN NEMI - 12 /02

ENTERING INTO THE PROCESS OF DISCERNMENT

The capitulants entered into the Discernment process renewed and refreshed after a rejuvenating day.  The day began with a prayer song led by the Province of Brazil that awakened our minds and hearts with the words “we walk with the light of God”.

Our facilitator Sr. Maria Murcia stressed that discerning is choosing between two goods. Further we were asked to reflect on our own experience of choosing between two goods. Then an open discussion on the mandate of the General Council was initiated. Many had the opportunity to raise questions and clarify their doubts about the mandate of the General Council. We then moved on to the formation of random groups of four members each to discuss and bring clarity to the future calls and recommendations of the Chapter.  We came to a consensus on our future calls and recommendations.

    BEING THAT PRODUCES FRUIT

Sr. Marian Ambrosio summed up the proceedings of the day and raised thought provoking questions challenging us to discover the source of living water deep within us. Once we discover the living water it flows like an overflowing stream into our ministries, mission and to the peripheries. The total integration between "being" and "doing"   BEING THAT PRODUCES FRUIT - only living waters can produces rich harvest.

Finally, it is worth letting the miracle of the "multiplying fruit" and the "herbs that heal the nations" motivate us to look at the world's famines and diseases, and the methods used today to try to overcome them.

    MOMENTS WITH SR. DONNA

In the afternoon session Sr. Donna presented the Finance report of the Congregation via zoom. The Congregation has received much through her generosity and expertise in the last fifteen years of dedicated service.  Sr. Marianne Bode thanked her for her great contribution in handling the finances of the Congregation. The assembly gave thunderous applause for her dedicated service. Sr. Sally Hodgdon thanked Sr. Donna for her generous support of the Congregation.

JOURNEYING TOGETHER IN THE SAME DIRECTION

During the liturgy, each sister was invited to place a shoe in front of the altar to reflect her deep desire to journey together in the same direction.
