RELIGIOUS LIFE – A LABORATORY OF THE SPIRIT
Today the delegates began the day in their small prayer groups and took the opportunity to share personal reflections on Sister Sally’s opening talk.
The morning presentation was given by Sister Nicla Spezzati, who spoke on “Religious Life as a Laboratory of the Spirit.” Sister shared her reflections on this topic with the group, who then went off in their small groups to discuss her presentation. When the group gathered back in the Chapter Room, there was time for questions and feedback. It was the consensus of the group that Sister had given the delegates much to ponder and reflect upon.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
Following dinner, and some time for quiet, the Capitulants reconvened and the Provinces of Pachmahri, Tanmaya, Nagpur, and Nirmala and the Region of Pakistan presented their reports. Capitulants viewed a video presentation from each area and had time to ask questions. Following a break, Capitulants were again invited to go to their small groups and discuss four of the reports received in a document entitled “The Journey Continues,” a compilation of discussions from June through October in our Zoom sessions. What moved us? What did we see as a possible direction for the whole Congregation? Regathering in the Chapter Room, each group secretary offered some feedback.
IT'S THANKSGIVING
Today was also the celebration of Thanksgiving Day in the United States, and the delegates from the US Province were responsible for the Liturgy. The theme was Religious Life and was combined with the theme of gratitude. The altar was decorated with items that could be found on a Thanksgiving table in the United States.
Capitulants look forward to tomorrow, beginning with Mass celebrated at 8:15, followed by presentations on Interculturality by Father Tim Norton, SVD.
