    CHAPTER JOURNEY / 10 - 08

    ONE = ALL IN COMMON!

    Friday, October 08, 2021: It was an exciting moment as the General Chapter delegates met again after a month’s gap. The sisters were warmly welcomed by Sr. Sally Hodgdon. The sisters from Pakistan lead the group in prayer. It was an invitation to believe in the Lord and rethink and recreate hope and faith in the poor.

    The opening talk given by Sr. Marian Ambrosio was really challenging and soul stirring. As the theme for the day was Financial Matters, she helped us reflect on our life on the basis of Acts of the Apostles and our own constitution. “See How they love one another” refers to the manner and the way of loving, the life style and characteristics that proved love.  “Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.” This was the powerful testimony and witness given by the Apostles. It was possible for them because they were immersed in the spirit. In dynamic, creative response to our Founder’s initial insight we too are called to live in one heart and soul sharing our human values, the material goods, our spiritual goods as we are people sent, people shared and people in communion.

    FINANCE - CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

    The input given by Mr. Chris was really informative and helpful to understand global policy on accounting. The explanation on Form - 9 template helped to educate ourselves and to know the present scenario of our congregation. The presentation given by International Finance commission was really appreciated. They commission has really pioneered ahead to make our financial status more stable and common to all. Many took the opportunity to express their gratitude to Sr. Sally, Sr. Donna and other commission members for all their efforts.

    The group discussion gave an opportunity to everyone to express their opinion and give suggestions for the future strategic planning regarding finance of the congregation. Sr. Sally thanked everyone for their whole hearted contribution and sharing. The meeting ended with a spontaneous “‘Ciao’, ‘Tchau’, ‘Au revoir’, and ‘Bye’” across the globe with a smile of joy and love.
