Religious Consecration in Caxias do Sul

The Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Province of Caxias do Sul, had the joy of celebrating the definitive religious profession of Sister Cristiani Sarro.

Sister Cristiani was born in Angélica, Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), in central-west Brazil. Her parents Antônio and Francisca Silva Sarro currently live in Glória de Dourados, MS. Sister Cristiani’s initial formation took place in Fátima do Sul, MS, then in Porto Alegre and Caxias do Sul in the south of Brazil where she now resides.  During her preparation for final profession, she spent two months in Bolivia in order to have an experience of mission. She expresses her life as a consecrated religious by living in a religious community in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city, where she is engaged in both pastoral work and professional work in a hospital.  At this time she is also studying nursing.

Prior to her final commitment, there was a week of vocation promotion with visits to schools, vocation meetings and celebrations with different groups. The vow ceremony took place on May 7 in Glória de Dourados, MS.  Sister Cristiani bases her life and mission on John 14:6, where Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”
