Nirmala Province Begins Its First Provincial Chapter

It is four years, since Nirmala Province bifurcated from the mother Province of Nagpur, becoming an independent province.

Today is a historic day in the life of this young Province as it began its 1st Chapter with the participation of 66 deliberative members in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. Sr. Sally, General Superior and Sr. Philomena, General Councillor, present for this Chapter, emphasized that we should be women of deep prayer who have courage to proclaim and live communion.

The Chapter opened with a cultural dance by sisters who led the delegates to the meeting hall, with each sister carrying a lit lamp which was placed in front of Fr. Medaille’s picture. The opening prayer asked for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit so we might listen, reflect, discover and renew ourselves and the life of the province.
