The JPIC Commission of our Nirmala Province, sent a meaningful prayer service on the topic WATER to be conducted in all our communities in the month of June, 2020.

This prayer service enlightened, inspired  and encouraged our sisters to be cautious of the ways and means to conserve WATER, which is the Congregational Focus for the months of May to August, 2020.

A Ritual with 3 glass jars…full, half and empty were placed on 3 stands with placards on each…CLEAN WATER; DIRTY WATER; NO WATER. Meaningful reflections were made on each, making us aware of the importance of using water sparingly in our lives and daily living.

All  of our communities conducted this prayer service very creatively and meaningfully,   the Sisters, inmates and staff members were inspired.

    Sharing few insights :

Gratitude and thanksgiving to God for this great gift of WATER in our lives

Realization of the misuse of water, and resolving to use it carefully and saving it.

Awareness that EVERY DROP OF WATER, COUNTS to bring life.

Remembering the lives that are cut short, due to water diseases, disasters, floods, tsunamis etc..

Reducing water usage, and preventing water wastage.

Todays rain water, is tomorrows life saver.

“Water is essential to the full enjoyment of life and all other human rights” (says the Social Doctrine of the Church)

We resolved to have the right attitude, to save water everyday, as we use it to drink, wash and live, and to be appreciative of water, remembering it as a gift from God, not to be wasted.  This can be done by consciously, closing a leaking tap, while having a bath, preventing wastage and leakage and a simple lifestyle.  Reduce, reuse, recycle to conserve water, in order to protect life and save our earth.
