Sharing of International Formators Session
A day’s session of sharing, interaction, and discussions was held on May 30, 2019 in the Provincial House, Tanmaya, Bhopal, India. The Province Leadership Team, the Formation Team, and the Spiritual Directress were part of this session. This was based on the International Formators’ Session held in Rome. (April 2019)
Sisters Sheela, Karuna and Vidhya, who participated in the session, expounded the theme ‘Formed by Jesus to give feet to our dream.’ This was followed by a comparative study on the formators’ and formees’ questionnaire. The topics ‘Vocational Accompaniment’ and ‘Formative Communities’ gave clarity to the participants on how to understand and accompany the formees in the present scenario. Though the formators are not “digital natives”, it is a ‘must’ to update oneself in order to accompany the formees of the digital age to understand the values and become part and parcel of digital culture.
The sharing on Sr. Sally’s paper ‘Youth Synod’ enlightened the group. The young have varied life experiences and are full of passion and enthusiasm. The present need is to listen, understand and accept them without bias or judgment.
The topic ‘Interculturality’ helped the group to widen their horizon and make communities a welcoming home for all. At the end the participants felt enriched and enlightened. They also shared their concerns, views, and ideas about bringing changes in their own lives, in the communities, and especially in formation.
