04.13.2020 | Sisters of St. Joseph facing the Coronavirus Pandemic: Saligao Goa and Region of Pakistan - Sharing 14

Solidarity with our Sisters and brothers in Saligao GOA

Listening to the cries and woes of our migrant people here in Saligao, Goa, due to the lockdown, our hearts moved to reach out to them, and alleviate their pain of their cries, “we have no food to eat and to care for our families”.

Our Sisters visited and met some of the families in greatest need, and we purchased some food items and distributed to the most families need.

Besides, we, Sisters Vasantha and myself, responded to the call from an NGO Sharada Kerkar and her team, to do voluntary service in distributing food grains, and to find out families in need. We collected and are still collecting names, and working along with the NGO to reach out and help them, inspite of the lockdown and restrictions.

Now days Region of Pakistan (Multan community)

In this precarious situation in the world after the rapid spread of corona virus, we are not having any social activities. We are locked up inside the convent. We each member extend ourselves more in community services. We realized now, at this moment we need each other more than before. We have grown deeper in the love for God and dear neighbor; we have organized more of ourselves for personal contact with God the almighty and with oneself.

As becoming more conscious about saving food, water, electricity, gas, soup, shampoo etc living an ethical way of life or consciousness, considering the solidarity with the people who do not have the most of these facilities. We are also conscious to protect each other life. We spend our time together and even individual before Blessed Sacrament, attending Holy mass online, reflecting scripture, novena to Saint Joseph, Rosary of the divine Mercy and all faith sharing, morning creative prayers as one community draw us closer to God, lessen our fear of suffering with Covid-19 and provide us eternal joy of death. We keep ourselves update with the situation throughout the world and especially in our country. Feeling the urgent need of the situation sometime, we have to go to the poor people for making them aware that what is the best way to get help from the Government because now a days. The government is willing to help the needy people financially and materially. Mostly our people are not educated so they need help time to time. We all sisters are united in prayer. Hopefully we will celebrate and share our Risen Christ very soon.
