04.10.2020 | Sisters of St. Joseph in the face of the Coronavirus Pandemic: Provincial Council Brazil and the Esperança Vacaria Community. Sharing 10

Provincial House Community  In quarantine time ...

Our Community lives intense moments of communion with the Congregation, the Church and all of humanity. After two months of conferences, trips, visits and meetings, we were forced to stay at home. We had to change our routine, our plans and our way of being in contact with the Sisters. Every moment we are adjusting, reorganizing and discovering new ways.

We are dedicating our time for the meeting of the Provincial Council. We show our closeness to Communities, Teams and Service Groups, through letters, phone calls and videoconferences. We intensified the moments of prayer and redoubled our concern towards the Sisters, mainly in our Care Homes and Institutions in the health area.

We spend quality time with one another sharing our knowledge, having moments of relaxation, preparation of meals and cleaning of the house. We believe that by doing our part and being in solidarity with others who suffer, we realize our charism.

We had the grace to celebrate Sr. Elisa Zuanazzi\´s birthday, a life that is a gift and commitment, amid health, patience, love, tolerance and dignity. Being together helps us to have a listening attitude, getting attuned to the qualities and limitations of each one. Everything is God\´s grace and time!

    Esperança Community   Vacaria  RS

The attitude of our community has changed a lot. We are four Sisters and two are in the risk group, so we advise them to stay home and we are willing to assume their commitments outside the home. When we go, and come back, we take care of personal hygiene, things we bring and especially food packaging. In addition to our community, we also help other communities of sisters, all are at risk, to meet the needs.

We are taking advantage of the time to get to know each other better, because a few days ago the community was completed. We take care of the house, vegetable garden and Flower garden. We also have games, popcorn and reading. We have personal and community prayer and we follow the guidelines of the Province province. We attend mass every day and receive communion. In our conversations, there is hope that all of this will pass soon and we will return to a better quality of life.
