08.07.2019 | Sister Philomena, General Councilor, visits Brazil

The visit of General Councilor, Sister Philomena Pazhoora to the Brazilian Province, July 16 to 30, 2019, brought joy, moments of reflection, and words of encouragement, comfort, and incentives for the mission. In communities some words about her presence resounded were heard, "simplicity, closeness, joy, friendship, admiration, respect", expressed here and there, she visited.

About her visit to Brazil, Sister Philomena expressed herself thusly, "I spent a precious time in Brazil, especially in the South of Brazil. I found myself with Sisters of different ages, listening to their hopes and dreams for the Congregation and interacting with the people who carry out their ministries.  It was really an experience full of hope for me.

I was fortunate to participate in the meeting of Sisters of temporary vows and also in the meeting of Sisters with 1 to 15 years of permanent profession. I could see how they were supporting each other while sharing the experiences and struggles of their life and mission. The meetings were very profitable for each of them and for this reason, they asked for more moments like these.

Brazil has a large number of members and associates, that is, Laity of the Little Design, who are well committed to collaborating with the mission of the congregation. I was really happy to interact with different groups from different places. The journey was challenging, and the experience was very profound.”

As we express our gratitude to Sister Philo, as she is affectionately called, we thank her for her visit, for staying with us, listening, and welcoming the life that happens in our homes, in our schools, social projects, health care…

May St. Joseph, our good protector, bless you always and may the spirit of God continue to lead your footsteps.

    Sister Eliana Aparecida dos Santos
