06.23.2019 | Seminar On Ignatian Spirituality.

From 10 to 17, June 2019, the Provincial House at Nagpur was in a quiet reflective and contemplative mood with 50  participants enjoying a training programme in Ignatian Spirituality.  The participants ranged from Novices to Temporary  Professed  and Final Professed Sisters,  all alive, enthusiastic and bubbling, to understand and  delve deeply into our Ignatian way of Life.  The resource person was Fr. George Cordeiro, sj, from the Papal Seminary, Pune, India.

God is at work in us -  we are spiritual and religious beings and we respond to God allowing  His Gaze to fall on us so that we take that Gaze to others.

    The 5 stages of prayer

    1. Vocal -  mental(Reflective),

    2. Mental - Reflective,

    3. Meditation -  Application of Reason to our prayer,

    4. Contemplation - transforms the structure of Mind, Heart and Spirit.

    5. Contemplation in action - we become Christ-like, e.g.  like           Mother Teresa.

The above Prayer and Reflections help us to understand our sinfulness and move us into a process of healing.   Therefore, "Heal the world with the Art of Spiritual Direction".

In this process, we move from Self Centered/ Broken Self to the Healed Self and from there to the Visioning , Contemplative Self and Christ-likeness,  keeping in mind -

"I am created in the Image of God. No human being, no human event can make me less than what God has created me to be"

"If I free my Will from the Body, Mind and Heart, I connect to God, creating a Fertile Ground  for  Christ-likeness".

Spiritual Direction requires "accompaniment through Life Events and the Five Stages of healing."  Each stage has a task, goal, purpose and process.

In the spiritual dimension, God  is  love.  God chooses and invites me to relate deeply in love,  giving birth to me through my parents.  In this process,  I remember  that  " love made flesh" is realized  through God\´s Love in my Reality and  Identity.

We understood in a very practical and tangible manner what Physical, Psychological, Emotional,  and Spiritual Healings are all about.  In this understanding, We affirm our Internal Identity to live our Prayer , Vowed, Community Life and Mission, upholding the Supremacy of Love Made Flesh.

Father clearly emphasized  how Sacred and  Important each and every part of our body is representing the  Family Image and Time Line.

We are to be aware that there are Neuro Transmitters in our entire body which control the Body,  Mind, Heart and Spirit.  It is different in the Male and Female brain.  When the Neuro Chemicals are released, Love increases and Relationships are highly Positive.

The highlight of Ignatian Spirituality are the spiritual   exercises which have been clearly and practically shared and explained to the participants, moving us from Conversion to Enlightenment,  Transformation, Transfiguration, Crucifixion and Resurrection.  The aspect of Consolation, Desolation and  Discernment of Spirits,  were given a central place.

With the help of appropriate handouts, specially on the Biography of Ignatius Loyola and the Spiritual Exercises, along with group exercises, effective and meaningful sharings, the eight day Seminar was a very encouraging and a heart-warming success.
