Management is an activity common to all human beings who have sufficiently functioning mental, emotional and psychological faculties, Even as children we are taught and manage ... things (to get the toys, for example), animals (my daughters, when children get a dog and through that, are taught to take care of a living being), activities related to responsibilities (school, homework, etc.).
Management models have developed as administrative schools were adjusting to the evolution of the temporal and regional contexts. Models emerged from the industrial revolution, with a mechanical approach and eminently Cartesian logic. With the advent of postmodernism, the contingency theory came forth. There isn’t a single model of administration, but rather the adoption of that which best meets the circumstances and scenarios.
The dynamics of contemporary society require creativity and innovation in the way we manage organizations, institutions and individuals. The behaviors of people tend to shape social conditioning, critically affecting interpersonal relationships and the people in the institutions. Demands for an obligatory lifestyle impose ever-increasing financial challenges. In this context, making choices and decisions becomes an increasingly complex act.
